Field Notes: I don't find myself making an effort to shoot a whole lot of portraits typically, even though I do love to photograph friends. When this subject came up, I figured I would put a little more intention behind photographing the people I was around. Luckily enough, I had just got word that I was going to Santa Cruz for a work trip. I loaded up with a roll of Cinestill 400d and headed North. The tricky thing, and one I like to generally practice, is trying to capture the raw moments while maintaining the look and feel of a particular subject. In this case, that meant having the camera on me at all times and being more deliberate with when and where I picked it up and took a photo. Pretty happy with the results.
